Join us for a night of live music, friends and good food at a fundraising event for the youth missions trip at Christ Lutheran Church in Faribault.

We'll be featuring The BeeKays (Kittleson Family Band) playing Country music – old and new. Requests of all kinds will be taken so if you have a request, post it on the Facebook wall for the event (Concert for a Good Cause.)

All proceeds go towards the Christ Lutheran Church youth mission trip to New York City.

The weather outside was poor, but the atmosphere inside was perfect!

In spite of the rain, we're glad that everyone had a good time (and who will forget the "rain set" in the backyard during the "downpour"?!) While we would have liked to do the entire show outside, plan B under the awning was a cozy and intimate performance that was incredible.

For those who didn't see it, Dan's summary from his facebook page said it best:

The Youngers's crowd in Oronoco MN braved a downpour before they presto-change-o moved it inside to hear Dan Schwartz and me kick some serious ayass last night.

Special thanks to everyone, first for their patience, and second for the help in getting everything set up under the awning!

A big thanks goes out to family and friends who helped set up, tear down and clean up; cook, grill and fry the great food; run the sound system; and everything else that makes this work.

It was a great "rainy day" turnout and all the tasty side dishes and wine brought by our guests helped make the entire evening a big success! Without each of you we wouldn't be able to do this.

And don't forget, as announced at the show, Dan Navarro will be back in the area on December 10th as part of DecemberSongs in a show that will be performing at Zumbrota's Crossings at Carnegie. Dan will be performing with Amy Speace, Sally Barris and Jon Vezner. It will be an acoustic show and they will be performing original, contemporary and traditional holiday songs. I'm sure it will be a wonderful show so don't wait too long to make your reservations.

To keep track of all Dan's activities you can keep follow him on his website, www.dannavarro.com.

For those of you interested in following Dan Schwartz, you can visit his website, www.danschwartz.net or follow him as part of New Roots Duo or The Neighborhood Trio.

Thanks again to everyone for supporting live music at our place by making the Dan Navarro House Concert a huge success!

Dan NavarroRecording Artist Dan Navarro is returning this fall for this year's outdoor party and house concert at our place on Friday, September 10th, 2010.

* JUST ADDED: Dan Schwartz on Mandolin and Guitar *

We look forward to seeing all of of our friends, and their friends (so please help us get the word out so we can fill the back yard and make this a truly rewarding show.)

Thanks to everyone for their support this year as we wrap up our summer house concert season. For those who were able to make it out for our final show last Sunday, we'd like to extend a special thanks to everyone who chipped in a few dollars for the extra musicians who joined Dan to make this a truly special night of music.

If you are interested, you can keep track of Dan Navarro at his new website, see what David Glaser is doing by going here, or follow Todd Lorenz as he travels the upper midwest (including in Mankato on the 25th) by checking his schedule.

As for next year, we'll have to see what works out but we certainly plan on hosting at least one show in 2010, so take the time now to spread the word to your friends. The success of these house concerts depends on getting the word out to our friends and everyone who signs up for this newsletter on our website (sidebar on right) will hear from us as soon as we set up our next show.

Thanks again!

Dave and Ellen

We've just talked to Dan Navarro, and he has arranged for Todd Lorenz to open for him on September 13th. Since that means we'll be starting the show a little earlier to accomodate the extra music, you should plan on getting here when the doors open so you can enjoy the food and some more great music! Here's a little background on Todd, and if you want to learn more, just check out his website.

Todd Lorenz is an accomplished singer/songwriter who was the only solo act to make the finals of the Arizona Blues Showdown in 2000 and was a Song of the Year Suggested Artist in 12/2008.  He has jammed with Guy Davis, shared a stage with John Statz, opened for Fruteland Jackson and opened for/performed with Dan Navarro.  He plays acoustic Americana music made up of a mish mash of blues, folk, rock and a bit of country, and has played venues in WI, IL, IA, WY, CA, AZ, NE and KS.  Born in Orange, Todd spent most of his early life in southern California, including graduating from Musician’s Institute in 1989.  He then relocated to San Diego, CA where he fronted a few bands and began playing solo acoustic music with a small degree of success.
